There’s a busy, crazy, obligation and performance driven world rushing around you…
Stop and sit.
Rest here for awhile.
Look, listen, and feel a different rhythm of life…
These chairs have given rest and renewed strength for many a weary pilgrim.
Today they extend an invitation to you.
This is not just a picture, it’s a thousand words for you to hear…
If God doesn’t build the house, the builders only build shacks.
If God doesn’t guard the city, the night watchman might as well nap.
It’s useless to rise early and go to bed late, and work your worried fingers to the bone.
Don’t you know he enjoys giving rest to those he loves?
Psalm 127:1-3 MSG
What other words will God speak to you as you rest here today?

Today I’m joining The Gypsy Mama for Five Minute Friday. The rules? Write for 5 minutes flat – no editing, no over thinking, no backtracking. Today’s topic: REST
I roll the r’s around in my mouth and try to taste it.
But life is sometimes bitter yet beautiful in its busy-ness. And rest eludes me.
But it lives in my memories…
Cool mountain breezes caressing my face as I gaze at the snow-capped mountains in all their splendor.
Warm ocean breezes that cuddle me with sun mellowed warmth as I dig my toes in the sand.
My body longs for the rhythm of the breath of rest. My soul for the healing room where rest dwells.
My mind dreams of the altitude and the deepness of rest. My fingers long to grasp it.
And never let go of its eternity…
Time’s up! Join in the fun and write your own five minutes on REST. Click on the link to The Gypsy Mama below.
